After a six-year hiatus from the New Year’s Eve event (last held in 2012 / 2013), Esquire Entertainment decided that it was time for a return, but with a twist. We have always wanted to have a beach party but with the summer event being established as a “garden-themed” event, the opportunity had not presented itself. Well, in 2019, that opportunity rose, and in collaboration with Copa Kartel, Bliss Beach was invented. The concept was similar to the other Bliss events held by Esquire Entertainment, all-inclusive, but that vibe was taken to one of the most beautiful back drops that Barbados could offer, the Copacabana Beach Club. The fist staging took place in January 2019 on the first day of the year. With Marcel Clarke, as head chef, food was provided by his kitchen, Privé Culinary Designs, as well as Caribbean Villa Chefs, Yummy Mummies, Bento Box and Cravings. From all accounts, the patrons who supported the event, especially after the busy Christmas and New Year’s Eve festivities, had a great time. The event was held again on the first day of 2020. Who knows what is next to come for the January event.
